How It Works

Submit the documents

Funeral director provides the required cremation application and medical documentation.

Submission check

Certa checks that the submission is complete from an administrative perspective.

Medical referee review

The appointed medical referee independently reviews the case and determines the permit status.

Permit returned

If approved, the completed permit is returned securely to the funeral director.

Certa does not make clinical or statutory decisions. All medical referee decisions are made independently by the appointed medical referee.

Processing Time
  • Turnaround depends on case complexity and completeness.
  • No guaranteed timeframe for clinical assessments.
